Halberstadt Region

The Halberstadt region consists of the territory of the Principality of Halberstadt when it was created from the former Bishopric in 1648. Also included is the 1648 territory of the the County of Wernigerode, the Abbacy of Quedlinburg, and the Lordship of Schauen.

 

The data base begins at different times for different countries. Those are explained on the country pages. After the end of the Holy Roman Empire, the vast majority of the territory in the region became part of the Kingdom of Westphalia, a Napoleonic client state. I end the database at that point.
