  • 1735: Created when the Vorst-Lombeck family acquires sovereignty over the Lordships of Villip and Merl through marriage to the heiress of Bassenheim-Gudenau and appends Gudenau to its name
  • 1777: Purchases administrative rights over Drachenfels and Wolkenburg (Unterherrschaften in Electorate of Cologne) from Bassenheim-Bornheim
