Lübeck Stadtstiftsdörfer in Holstein after 1804

From 1804 on, I stop grouping villages in Holstein-Lübeck by owner. Instead, I group them geographically, in accordance with the groupings provided by Schröder and Biernatzki (page 112, after the list of institutional owners) in 1855. The groupings were as follows:

 

• Gericht Merkendorf retained all of the villages owned by the St. Clemenskaland and added nearby Bentfeld, which was owned by the St. Johanniskloster.
• Gericht Schwochel was created out of Schwochel and Böbs, both owned by the St. Johanniskloster, but well to the south and west of the rest of Gericht Heringsdorf.
• Gericht Heringsdorf retained the remaining villages owned by the St. Johanniskloster and added Giddendorf, which was administered by the Heiligen Geist Hospital.
• Gericht Westerau added the villages of Barkhorst and Pölitz, which were owned by the Heiligen Geist Hospital.
• Gericht Scharbeutz retained three villages that had been owned by the Heiligen Geist Hospital and added Röbel. All of those villages were transferred to the ownership of the Principality of Lübeck, thereby placing them in the country of Holstein-Oldenburg. In 1843, the Gericht was dissolved with Kesdorf joining Amt Ahrensbök and the Principality assuming sovereignty over the other three. Röbel was assigned to Amt Eutin and the other two were assigned to Amt Schwartau).
