Condominia between Walramian and Ottonian Nassuvian Entities
This page covers most of the subdivisions that were part of condominia between Nassuvian entities, one Walramian and one Ottonian. Missing is Freier Grund, which fell into that category between 1799 and 1806 but whose subdivisions are covered on their own page.

Herrschaft Altweilnau
Herrschaft Altweilnau was located on the Weil River, about half way between the Camberg condominium to the west and Usingen to the east. The Walramian claim to Altweilnau was more complicated that depicted here. This was the best I could do. In 1631, Idstein and Hadamar engaged in a trade to consolidate the administration of their condominia. Idstein took full control of Altweilnau and gave up its claim to Esterau. After the extinction of the Hadamar line, however, Diez revived the Ottonian claim to Altweilnau; hence, the temporary revival of the Altweilnau condominium between 1717 and 1728.

Gericht Esterau
Esterau was located on the Lahn River, just downstream from Diez. Its condominium status dates to the original partition between Walramian and Ottonian lines in 1255. Esterau was the other half of the 1631 trade between Hadamar and Idstein. Unlike Altweilnau, however, the line surrendering its claim in 1631 did not try to revive it in 1717. That was largely because Esterau had passed out of Nassuvian hands in 1643. This section covers only the nations and countries that Esterau was part of prior to that time. The list of villages in Esterau, as well as the nations and countries to which it belonged after 1643 can be found on the page covering subdivisions of the County of Holzappel-Schaumburg.

Amt Kirberg
Amt Kirberg was the entity that interceded between Amt Diez and Amt Dauborn, making the latter an exclave of Dillenburg-Diez. In 1781, it was involved in a trade between two Walramian entities that was motivated by their desire to consolidate the Walramian claim to Amt Nassau, previously shared between Usingen and Weilburg, under one entity. Usingen became that entity when it agreed to trade Amt Kirberg to Weilburg.

Amt Löhnberg
Amt Löhnberg was located on the west bank of the Lahn River, just opposite the town of Weilburg. In 1773, it was involved in a trade between Ottonian and Walramian entities. Löhnberg became fully Walramian and was absorbed into Amt Weilburg. In exchange, Weilburg transferred a parish in Amt Merenberg to Orange-Nassau, where it became part of Amt Beilstein (split between the Herrschaft zum Westerwald and Herrschaft Beilstein).

Amt Nassau
Amt Nassau was located in the Lahn River, downstream from Diez and Esterau. Its condominium status dates to the original partition between Walramian and Ottonian lines in 1255. The Amt was enhanced in 1775 when the neighboring condominium (with Hesse-Kassel) of the Vier Herren auf dem Einrich was partitioned. Then, in 1781, the Walramian interest in Amt Nassau was consolidated under Usingen when it received Weilburg’s share in exchange for Amt Kirberg.
