Brunswick Guelphic Germany
Hannover Guelphic Germany
British Germany
The Guelphic line ruled the Duchy of Brunswick-Lüneburg beginning in 1235. The line split between Brunswick and Lüneburg in 1269, although each line continued using both names. The Lüneburg line died out in 1369 and its territories were subsequently ruled by the Brunswick line. Therefore, between 1369 and 1634 I deem all principalities within the Duchy of Brunswick-Lüneburg to be part of Brunswick Guelphic Germany.
Beginning in 1635, I deem duchies, principalities, and counties ruled by the line that, in 1692, became Electors of Hannover to be part of Hannover Guelphic Germany. In 1714, the Elector of Hannover became King of Great Britain and thereafter I change the name of the nation to British Germany. (It would change back in 1837 if I were covering that period.) I deem post-1635 duchies, principalities, and counties whose lines either died out or became part of the Duchy of Brunswick after the Napoleonic Wars to be part of Brunswick Guelphic Germany.
The lists below will be expanded as additional regions are processed.
