Amt Reinbek
Quasi-Vogtei Kirchsteinbek and Gut Silk
The Reinbek convent (Kloster) was founded in 1224 and and was granted land in 1238. In 1529, the convent was secularized and its lands were converted into an Amt. In the 1544 partition of Holstein, Amt Reinbek was assigned to Holstein-Gottorp. It reverted to the core Duchy of Holstein in 1773, when the Gottorp line relinquished its claims in Holstein.
In 1609, Amt Reinbek undertook a major trade of territory with Amt Trittau, receiving the villages of Barsbüttel, Oststeinbek, Stemwarde, and Willinghusen in exchange for Grande, Köthel, and Witzhave. In 1724, administrative responsibility for three villages was transferred to Stadt Hamburg (where they became quasi-Vogtei Reitbrook), followed by the transfer of full sovereignty in 1768. Between 1750 and 1768, administrative responsibility for nine more villages, which I have grouped together in quasi-Vogtei Kirchsteinbek, was turned over to Stadt Hamburg. Administrative responsibility reverted to Holstein-Gottorp in 1768. The date spans for those nine villages under Amt Reinbek below should be understood to exclude the period during which they belonged to quasi-Vogtei Kirchsteinbek. (I give the simplified country name of “Holstein-Hamburg” to quasi-Vogteien under Holstein or Holstein-Gottorp sovereignty but Hamburg administration).
Gut Silk was created within the Amt in 1608. In 1765, it became a Kanzleigut and left the Amt.
