County of Lippe-Alverdissen
County of Schaumburg-Lippe-Alverdissen
The County of Lippe-Alverdissen was one of three subordinate counties created in 1613 from the core County of Lippe(-Detmold) consisting of the Ämter of Alverdissen and Lipperode. Like all Lippe spin-offs, I assign it to Lippian Germany. In 1647, after the Schaumburg line had died out, the Count of Lippe-Alverdissen acquired a portion of the former County of Schaumburg, which he renamed the County of Schaumburg-Lippe. That county was fully independent of the County of Lippe, and the count was able to incorporate into it his Alverdissen territories.
In 1681, Schaumburg-Lippe spun off a subordinate county, also based in Alverdissen. (I use the simplified country name of Lippe-Alverdissen here, as above, because its territory fell entirely within the Lippe region.) That county lasted until 1777, but only Amt Alverdissen reverted to Schaumburg-Lippe. Amt Schieder (which had only been added in 1756) was returned to Lippe-Detmold, Amt Lipperode having been returned in 1748 as part of the settlement over the territory of the former Lippe-Brake.
