Stadt & Amtsvogtei Soltau
Amtsvogtei Fallingbostel
Soltau has existed since at least the 10th century. In 1479, it was acquired by the Principality of Lüneburg and became the seat of an administrative district that covered the northernmost parts of Großvogtei Celle. Amtsvogtei Fallingbostel was southwest of Soltau and west of Amtsvogtei Bergen. It was divided into a Hausvogtei, around Fallingbostel itself, and Vogtei Dorfmark, which bordered Soltau. The two Amtsvogteien were administered together from Fallingbostel after 1756, but I continue to recognize them as distinct subdivisions.
