Amtsvogtei Bergen
Amtsvogtei Hermannsburg
Bergen and Hermannsburg are towns to the north of Celle that date from the 11th century or earlier, eventually developing into administrative centers. I characterize them as Amtsvogteien throughout the period covered by the data base, although it is possible they were regular Vogteien for part of that period. Bergen is the farther west of the two, but is still south of the neighboring Amtsvogteien of Soltau and Fallingbostel. Hermannsburg, in turn, is farther north than the neighboring Vogtei Esche in Amstvogtei Bedenbostel. The two Amtsvogteien were administered together from Bergen beginning in 1795, but I continue to recognize them as distinct subdivisions.
