Herrschaft Hörstgen
Herrschaft Mylendonk
At the beginning of the period covered by the database, both Herrschaft Hörstgen and Herrschaft Mylendonk were self-governing lordships under the sovereignty of the Duchy of Guelders. By the end of the period, however, sovereignty over each had changed as follows:
- Sovereignty over Hörstgen shifted to the County of Moers in 1678. In fact, Hörstgen claimed independence the whole time and sovereignty was also claimed by the Electorate of Cologne. Nevertheless, historical sources seem to place more weight on the claims of Guelders and Moers, so I recognize those claims.
- Mylendonk became fully independent in 1700.
