Amt/Herrschaft Herzhorn

Amt Herzhorn was a subdivision of the Schaumburgian County of Holstein-Pinneberg prior to 1640. After the Schaumburgian line died out, the County was partitioned between the King and the Duke of Gottorp, with the King retaining Amt Herzhorn. He restyled it as a “Herrschaft” and created two Vogteien. In 1838, it was administratively linked to Grafschaft Rantzau, but retained its identity.
