Gohe Ober- & Niedervieland

Vieland consists of territory south of the Weser River, much of which was created from reclaimed land in the 12th and 13th centuries. It formed a Goh in the early 13th century, but it was not until the late 14th century that Stadt Bremen was able to exercise exclusive jurisdiction over it.

Goh Vieland was formally divided into Obervieland and Niedervieland in 1598. It remained part of the Imperial City of Bremen throughout the period covered by the data base.

It should be understood that all of the villages listed below in either Obervieland or Niedervieland were part of Goh Vieland prior to 1598.
