Gericht Hecklingen

Samtgericht Hohenerxleben

Gericht Leau

Several villages that were not owned by any of the Princes of Anhalt in 1606 when the principality was divided were recognized as being under the sovereignty of Anhalt-Bernburg. Rather than being assigned to an Amt, the administration of those villages was the responsibility of the owners. The villages in multi-village Gerichte were under the same administration, similar to an Amt. The villages in Samtgericht Hohenerxleben were not under the same administration, but they were adjacent to one another and otherwise disconnected from other Bernburg lands, so I combined them into a single entity. None of these entities was ever organized into a formal Amt, although the label was occasionally applied to them.
