Amt and Stadt Zerbst
Amt Zerbst (including the Stadt) was one of the original Ämter assigned to Anhalt-Zerbst when the Principality of Anhalt was divided in 1606. It was modified in 1797 when Anhalt-Zerbst was abolished and its land divided among the remaining three principalities. At that time, Amt Zerbst was assigned to Anhalt-Dessau.
The document dividing Anhalt in 1606 mentions an Amt Kermen. I can find no other mention of such an Amt. The villages that might have been included therein are all listed under Amt Zerbst.
