Amt Pinneberg

Haus & Waldvogtei and Amtsvogtei Uetersen

Pinneberg became the seat of the County of Holstein-Pinneberg in 1290 and, when Ämter were created, was also the seat of the largest of those. In 1640, when the County fell to Holstein, the Ämter were replaced with smaller subdivisions. The villages previously in Amt Pinneberg were divided between two of those subdivisions—the larger Haus & Waldvogtei based in Pinneberg itself, and Amtsvogtei Uetersen, consisting of villages in the vicinity of Uetersen but not under the jurisdiction of the Kloster located there. Over the years, the following additions were made:

  • In 1563, Rellingen joined Amt Pinneberg, having previously been administered by the Hamburg Domkapitel;
  • In 1803, Poppenbüttel joined the Haus & Waldvogtei, having previously been administered by the Hamburg Domkapitel; and
  • In 1803, Bilsen joined the Haus & Waldvogtei, having previously been administered by Kloster Harvstehude.
