Amt/Landvogtei Ovelgönne
The territory of this Amt originally consisted of two Frisian-inhabited (and extensively diked) islands at the mouth of the Weser River—Stadland and Butjadingen. They were conquered by Oldenburg in 1514, following which Ovelgönne castle was built. More diking was undertaken and eventually, the two islands became part of the mainland.
The lists below cover the period between 1529 and 1811. From 1529 until 1699, the Vogteien were under Amt Ovelgönne. As part of the local government reform instituted by Denmark in 1699, the Amt was recharacterized as a Landvogtei.
The first two Vogteien shown below belonged to the historical Landschaft Stadland.
