Amt Fallersleben

Fallersleben was settled as early as the 10th century. It fell under Welfian control in 1339, eventually landing in the Principality of Lüneberg, where it became the seat of an Amt. It was subdivided into two Gografschaften.

In 1539, Amt Fallersleben was assigned to a nonsovereign spinoff principality (Lüneburg-Gifhorn). That principality was dissolved in 1549, whereupon Amt Fallersleben reverted to Lüneburg-Celle (the simplified name of the core Principality of Lüneburg during the period when it was divided).
