Amt Detmold

and predecessor (pre-1806) Vogteien

Amt Detmold was divided into Vogteien starting in 1535. Thereafter, whenever the County of Lippe was divided, Amt Detmold and all of its Vogteien remained part of the core county, namely Lippe-Detmold. Over time, most of the Vogteien in Amt Detmold broke off and formed their own Ämter. By 1806, only the Vogteien of Detmold and Falkenberg remained and they were combined to form a smaller, undivided, Amt Detmold.
