Amt Brühl

Brühl was an identifiable settlement by the 12th century and became the site of a castle and the seat of an Amt in the 13th century. Prior to 1597, it served as one of the Elector’s residences. The Amt was not subdivided and remained part of the Electorate of Cologne throughout the period covered by the database.
