- 1656: Created upon the purchase of the territory by Peter Melander’s widow who held it in personal union with Holzappel; later in the year, enters into a personal union with Dillenburg-Dillenburg when Melander’s daughter, who was married to the Nassuvian prince, inherits the county upon the death of her mother
- 1676: Personal union is limited to Holzappel upon the death of the Nassuvian prince
- 1707: Terminated upon death of Melander’s daughter, resulting in formal merger with Holzappel
