Electorate of Saxony (adm. Anhalt-Dessau)

When the ruling family of Anhalt-Zerbst died out in 1793, Anhalt-Dessau acquired administrative responsibility for Amt Walternienburg, which it retained until 1815.

 

The Prince of Anhalt-Dessau began acquiring properties outside of Anhalt during the 18th century and assumed administrative responsibility for them. Many were adjacent to Anhalt, but under Saxon or Prussian sovereignty. Others were located further afield in Brandenburg and even East Prussia. Those places will be cataloged when their respective regions are processed.
