Abbacy/Bishopric/Landesteil of Corvey

Corvey Abbey was founded in the 9th century and began exercising secular authority almost immediately. In 1792, it was raised to a Bishopric, thus remaining part of Ecclesiastical Germany. In 1802, it was secularized, becoming the Corvey Landesteil within the Principality of Fulda and Corvey (part of Ottonian Nassau Germany). Neither the Abbacy, Bishopric, or Landesteil had any secular subdivisions. After the Holy Roman Empire ended in 1806, the Landesteil (but not the rest of the Principality) was absorbed into the Kingdom of Westphalia, a Napoleonic client state.
