Amt Hilchenbach
Gericht/Amt Hilchenbach initially consisted entirely of the parish of the same name and was established by the 14th century. When the Ottonian lands were partitioned in 1607, Amt Hilchenbach was assigned to the County of Siegen. When the further partition of the County of Siegen was first attempted in 1624, Hilchenbach received from Amt Netphen the monastery of Keppel and a few villages, and from Amt Ferndorf the village of Müsen (in which a new parish was based in 1627). When the partition was actually implemented in 1648, Hilchenbach became the seat of one of the two Calvinist counties.
