Amt Gernrode
Amt Gernrode, which had been an imperial abbey, was designated a Senioratsamt around the time the Principality of Anhalt was divided in 1606. In 1669, the Senioratsämter were abolished and Amt Gernrode was assigned to Anhalt-Harzgerode. When that line died out, it reverted to Anhalt Bernburg, where it remained until Anhalt was reunited in 1863.
