County of Blankenheim

 

This page covers the geographic County of Blankenheim, located in the Eifel region and straddling the boundary between modern North Rhine-Westphalia and Rhineland-Palatinate. It was the only sovereign territory of the lineage-based County of Manderscheid-Blankenheim prior to 1697, when it was joined by Gerolstein. The Lordship of Jünkerath, which some sources treat as a country, is included here.
