County of Gimborn-Neustadt

Gimborn castle dates from the 13th century, and was the seat of a lordship under the sovereignty of the County of Mark. In 1550, the lordship was acquired by the Schwarzenbergs, so I render the simplified country name as Mark-Schwarzenberg. In 1631, the Schwarzenbergs added the Markian lordship of Neustadt to their holdings and achieved imperial immediacy. Thereafter, it was the county of Gimborn-Neustadt and was subdivided into the two Herrschaften (the German term for Lordship).
