Amt Liedberg

The County of Liedberg was probably established in the 8th century. After the Liedberg line died out in 1166, it was temporarily divided, but was acquired by the Archbishop in 1267, where it was converted into an Amt. It was not until 1333, however, that all disputes with the Duchy of Jülich over the territory were settled. The Amt consisted of eight Dingstühle, all of which belonged to the Electorate of Cologne throughout the period covered by the database.
