Amt Sinzig und Remagen
Herrschaft Breisig
Herrschaft Burgbrohl
Sinzig and Remagen (both located on the Rhein upstream from Bonn) were initially imperial cities, but as they lost influence, they were acquired by neighboring counties—Jülich in the case of Sinzig, and Berg in the case of Remagen. Between 1421 and 1560, administrative responsibilities for those cities were handled by some combination of the Electorates of Trier and Cologne. Jülich (by then in personal union with Berg) reclaimed administrative responsibility in 1560 and formed an Amt that included both cities and two other Dingstühle.
In 1567, the Amt was enhanced with the acquisition of half of Oberwinter from the Lordship of Landskron. Administrative responsibilities for the other half was acquired in 1593 from Schleiden, along with half of Gimmigen and Kirchdaun (the other halves of which were part of Landskron). The self-governing Herrschaft Ahrenthal, included with the Amt for statistical purposes, became fully independent in 1702.

Chronological list of countries to which the rest of Amt Sinzig und Remagen belonged
Until 1747, Herrschaft Breisig was under the sovereignty of the Abbacy of Essen, but Jülich, via Amt Sinzig und Remagen, was responsible for its defense and had certain other administrative responsibilities. During that period, I place it in the country of Essen-Jülich. After 1747, Breisig was governed as a true condominium between Essen and Jülich, to which I give the simplified country name of Essen\Jülich.
On the southern border of Amt Breisig was Herrschaft Burgbrohl, which also included the noncontiguous village of Glees. This lordship was under Jülich sovereignty as of 1563, but was self-governing. I give it the simplified country name of Jülich-Burgbrohl.
