Amt Düren
Düren existed in as early as the 8th century and was the site of a castle used by Charlemagne. It was recognized as an imperial city in 1000, but became part of the County/Duchy of Jülich in 1241. The Amt consists of the Stadt and a few surrounding villages. (At some point, which I assume to have been prior to 1521, when the database for this region begins, the Amt also contained Dingstuhl Pier and Dingstuhl Merken, which eventually combined and landed in Oberamt Jülich.)
